Kerala launches Online Ration Card Management System



The Civil Supplies Department has launched an online system that manages all the services related to ration cards with the rollout of the Online Ration Card Management System (RCMS). Food & Civil Supplies Minister, Shri P Thilothaman inaugurated the RCMS and the related ‘Ente Ration Card’ mobile application at a function held at the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram.
Existing ration card holders and those who wish to apply for new ration card can avail the RCMS by logging on to www.civilsupplieskerala.gov.in, the official website of the Civil Supplies Department and through the ‘Ente Ration Card’ app which can be downloaded from Google Play. Those who don’t have an Internet connection can use the services through the Akshaya centres. At the Akshaya centres, there will be a fee of Rs 50 for filing applications for new ration cards and Rs 35 for all other online RCMS services.
All ration card-related services, including applying for a new ration card, entering a change of address, adding or deleting a new member in the card, and changing from one taluk to another, will now be available online. The services will turn full-fledged in a month’s time.
Ultimately, the ration card management system will be integrated with the m-Kerala app, the unified mobile application of the State government where all services of all government departments will be available online.
